Students and Families,
As we move further into the school year, we want to celebrate the energy and enthusiasm our students have started this year with. Each day we see countless examples of kindness, curiosity and growth. Together, we can ensure that this energy is carried through the year and our students continue to feel supported, challenged and proud of all they are accomplishing. Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you,
The Parkside Staff
Thursday October 2 is our 20th day of school this year. You will be receiving another attendance checkpoint email on that day. We want to to help keep families informed about their student's attendance with these checkpoint emails. Our school goal is for all of our students to be at school at least 90% of all school days. That means we hope that they will be absent (excused or unexcused) 17 or fewer days this year. We want these emails to help students and families stay on track for meeting this goal.
Progress reports will be sent home with students on Thursday October 9. You can always check in on your student's grades by accessing them through the Aspen family portal.
Where: Welcome Center 148 Concord Street
When: Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 11am - 6pm
The district is actively hiring for the following positions: Bus Driver, Crossing Guard, Food Service Worker, Substitute Teachers, Paraeducator/RBT, School Nurse (RN), Special Education, Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
If you are interested in applying to be a paraeducator or substitute teacher at Parkside please email Principal Szuksta directly for more information.
Each month we will share a quick "Social Media Minute" to help families stay informed about the apps and platforms their students may be using. This month we want to tell families about Discord.
Discord lets students chat, game and join servers (online groups), but many of these spaces are open to strangers.
Unknown people may try to connect with kids, sometimes sharing inappropriate content or unsafe links. Some servers can expose students to harmful language and unsafe people.
Families are encouraged to set boundaries, review privacy settings and talk with their child about only joining servers with people they truly know.
Check-ins on your child's activity can help protect them and ensure they are making safe online choices.
